Book One — The Hephaistos Sequence

Standard Date 2847. A research station. A data module. A kill team that was not fast enough.

Book One follows Janus and Ana through the Hephaistos-9 incident and its aftermath, with a parallel arc following Gelon, Yamar, and Seren Vael through the outer ring. It closes at the same station it opened, in the same dark, with a sentence from something that has been waiting to be asked.

Book Two — The Ice Planet

The Azimuth is visible. The ice planet is changing. The sentence has been received. Someone has to go and read the rest of it.

Book Two opens from the Azimuth epilogue of Return — a light where there was no light, growing at the system's gravitational centre — and moves toward the only place the full answer exists: the cave system beneath the ice planet's reorganising surface.
