Overview¶

At the gravitational centre of the Veridion system, something is beginning to materialise. Bluish. Plasma-adjacent in the EM signature. Growing.

It is called the Azimuth Event.

Strategic Significance¶

The Azimuth is not in anyone's territory. It is forming near the gravitational centre of the system — unclaimed, unassigned, and strategically dominant.

Whoever controls the space around it controls access to the defining event of the century.

The Vanguard Assessment¶

For the first time in its history, Vanguard Orbital performs an assessment that is not denominated in contract value.

The decision: This is worth owning, not selling.

Causes: Vanguard's transformation and the Guild's refusal to accept the removal of the third pillar of their power.

Outcome: Unknown.

Connection to Project Flicker¶

Ana Hamato's analysis suggests the structured signal in the Flicker data contains predictive models of the Azimuth's arrival.

The Hephaistos-9 team's final weeks were spent beginning to decode these models. The bearing was always pointing there.
